Lexus GX 460 gets negative

One of the popular auto magazines of US has advice the driver not to purchase the Lexus GX 460 sport utility vehicle. According to the report, rollover risk has been arose in the vehicle. The fact has come out at the time of emergency-handling tests of the vehicle. The magazine has also said that such problem is unique and has never been found in any other SUV.

Even Toyota 4Runner has never faced such serious drawbacks which has been also build in the same platform. As per the recent consumer report, the vehicle has some serious issues when it was taken to its limits on a handling course on CR’s test track. Mitsubishi Montero was the previous victim of such dilemma. In case of Montero the Consumer Reports have urged drivers not to buy the vehicle due to safety risk concerns. It was happened in the year 2001. Moreover, the magazine has never issued this warning on any of the product of the Japanese auto giant Toyota.


Alto retains to No. 1

Maruti Alto retained its number one position on the list of 10 top selling automobile models in India for the year 2009-10. Alto has been reported to be No. 1 for the sixth year consecutive year. Alto has captured the first spot replacing Maruti 800 for the first time in the year 2004.On the other hand, the most popular brand of India, Maruti 800 has seen a drastic fall in the list. It was launched in the year 1983 and since then, it was the first time when Maruti 800 has fallen off the list.The sales of Maruti 800 have been discontinued in 13 cities from the last month. After 2004 the sales figure of Maruti800 is declining and has not been so much impressive.Moreover, the people’s car is not in the best seller’s list. The most awaited brand from Tata Motors has been unable to find a place in the list.The sales of the Rs. 1 lakh car Tata Nano is largely affected by the low production. Experts believe that Nano will be in this list once its production issues have been solved.


Two more variants for i20 models

The second-largest automaker in the domestic market and the largest exporter of passenger vehicles in the Indian market, Hyundai Motors India has recently announced the launch of two more variants in the much-popular i20 series in the Indian market.Coupled with the existing models, the all new i20 will be available in two new variants – the Era and the Sportz. Coming equipped with the award winning technology, the new variants boasts of many new features in the product. The Era variant will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants while the Sportz variant is aiming to bridge the price and feature gap between the Magna and Asta.The new versions launched by the automaker were Era and Sportz. With the base model priced at Rs. 4.52 lakh Era has now replaced Magna (priced at 4.91 lakh for the base model) as the new entry level i20 model. Base model of the Sportz is priced at Rs. 5.32 lakh between Magna and the top-end model Asta, which costs up to Rs. 7.48 lakh.
