Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) had issued a tender for purchasing buses with doors on both sides but Chairman of the civic standing committee, Arvind Shinde announces a one day dead line to PMPML to withdraw its tender. The PMC standing committee had decided that PMPML should withdraw its tender for the purchase of 500 buses with doors on both sides. If this public transport company fails to withdraw its tender by Wednesday then the Congress, Shiv Sena and BJP collectively passed a resolution that the civic body will purchase these buses and pass it on to PMPML.Purchasing buses with doors on both sides reduces the sitting capacity and increase the expenses.
Regular buses are buses with doors on the left side, purchasing buses with right hand side door also reduces the sitting capacity by 10 seats. So they recommended for purchasing buses with left side door.
